What is a stress echo for?

A stress echocardiogram is a test done to assess how well the heart works under stress. The “stress” can be triggered by either exercise on a treadmill or a medicine called dobutamine. The stress echo test stands for the Stress echocardiography test. During the test, an echocardiography test is done while running on the treadmill.
