A catheter is used to administer the Micra Transcatheter Pacing System, a miniature single-chamber pacemaker, into the femoral vein. The electrical performance of a conventional leaded pacemaker and the TPS was evaluated in this study. Additionally, careful monitoring for a variety of adverse events was used to compare the safety profiles of the two systems. Ten Yucatan mini pigs had the TPS inserted in the right ventricular apex, and ten more pigs had a Medtronic single-lead pacemaker inserted in the right ventricular apex that was linked to a conventional pacemaker. For a period of twelve weeks, the electrical performance of every gadget was observed. X-ray, computed tomography, ultrasound, blood test, and necropsy were used to describe the safety profile of each device in order to monitor.
